// Est. 2025 — Built by a teen, for everyone
Most people don't find out their rights until it's too late. CardYourRights puts everything you need to know in your pocket — before life gets real.

// What We're About
The legal system is complicated on purpose — but your rights shouldn't be. CardYourRights turns confusing legal language into bold, simple, pocket-sized cards so that whether you're a student, a teen at work, or just living your life — you're always ready. No lawyer. No jargon. Just your rights, straight up.
// The Story
CardYourRights started because I realized most people — including me — didn't actually know their rights. So I built something about it. Every card is researched, every word is intentional, and every purchase helps spread the message: your rights don't expire.

What to say, what NOT to say, and exactly how to stay calm and protected when it matters most.
Locker searches, phone grabs, suspensions — know exactly what your principal actually can't do to you.
What companies can legally collect from minors and exactly how to protect yourself online.
Step-by-step: your right to a lawyer, calling a parent, and what to absolutely never say.
Your rights during a CPS visit and exactly what a caseworker cannot do — no matter what they say.
Legal hours, minimum wage rights, and what your boss literally cannot make you do as a teen.
Your rights at school and with law enforcement — no matter your immigration status. Period.
If something happened to you: what you're owed, who must help you, and how to report safely.
What happens when a kid goes to court, what a guardian ad litem is, and what you're allowed to say.
What probation officers can and can't do, and what happens if you violate terms.
Your rights if you're held in a juvenile facility — food, calls, and how you must be treated.
What kids can say in custody cases, whether you can choose which parent to live with, and who speaks for you.
What landlords can't do, when they can enter your home, and how to fight an eviction.
Specifically what happens during an active CPS investigation and exactly what you're protected from.
What schools must provide, what parents can demand, and what students can advocate for themselves.
What schools are legally required to do when you report bullying — and how to hold them accountable.
What you can and can't say, wear, or post online as a student — know the line before you cross it.
When you can consent to your own treatment without a parent present — and what doctors must keep private.
Your rights around therapy, confidentiality, and what has to happen before you can be involuntarily hospitalized.
What contracts minors can legally sign, and how to protect yourself when adults try to take advantage.
Refunds, scams, and exactly what to do when a business rips you off — at any age.
What platforms can collect from you, loot box laws, and how to report predatory online behavior.
Who can photograph you, post your photo, or use your likeness online — and how to make them stop.
Exactly what to say, what to hand over, and what you never have to allow during a traffic stop.
Eviction rules, security deposits, and what your landlord legally cannot do — no matter what they claim.
When firing is illegal, how to document it, and exactly how to file a claim that sticks.
Surprise bills, itemized charges, and how to dispute what you actually owe — the No Surprises Act protects you.
What collectors can and cannot do under the FDCPA — and exactly how to make them stop.
What counts as discrimination, how to document it, and where to file a complaint that gets taken seriously.
How long landlords have to return it, what they can deduct, and how to get every dollar back.
How to dispute errors, freeze your credit for free, and what lenders are legally not allowed to do.
Types of protective orders, how to file for free without a lawyer, and what they actually cover.
Your right to vote, what illegal voter suppression looks like, and how to report it to federal authorities.

Payday loans, hidden fees, and how to fight back against lenders who violate the Truth in Lending Act.
How to report illegal activity at work and what federal law does to protect you from retaliation.
What the IRS can and can't do, your 10 taxpayer rights, and how to respond without losing everything.
If ICE stops you on the street, you can stay silent. Ask "Am I free to go?" — if yes, calmly walk away. Never run or resist.
ICE cannot enter your home without a judicial warrant. Ask them to slide it under the door. An administrative ICE order is NOT enough.
You do not have to answer questions about where you were born, your status, or how you entered the country.
If ICE tries to deport you, you have the right to a hearing before a judge. Never sign anything without speaking to a lawyer first.
If detained, international law gives you the right to contact your country's consulate or embassy. Officers must inform you of this.
Children born in the United States are citizens — full stop. That citizenship cannot be taken away regardless of parents' status.
Before opening your door to any officer, ask to see a warrant signed by a judge. An ICE administrative order is not the same thing.
Never sign immigration papers without a lawyer. Signing voluntary departure can permanently bar you from returning to the U.S.
You have the right to an interpreter in immigration proceedings. You cannot be forced to communicate in a language you don't understand.
Even in detention you have rights: access to a lawyer, the right to contact family and your consulate, and the right to humane conditions.

Future Child Lawyer
// Meet the Founder
I'm a 13-year-old entrepreneur, strategist, and future child advocate — on a mission to make sure every kid knows their rights before they need them.
I started CardYourRights because I watched too many kids and families get lost in a system that was never designed to be easy for them, and I knew my love for advocacy, strategic thinking, and breaking down complex problems could actually change that.
My dream is to one day represent children in immigration cases, divorce proceedings, and criminal court — because every child deserves a voice, regardless of their situation.
Building this business has already taught me that resilience isn't about avoiding hard things, it's about doing the math on your next move before the situation does it for you.
CardYourRights is just the beginning — and I'm 13, so we've got a lot of time. 🃏
